Upjohn Unemployment Trustee Corporation/South Central Michigan Planning Council in Kalamazoo to help establish an economic development strategy to support job creation in West Michigan. "This critical investment brings together private-public partnerships to help businesses in the Kalamazoo area create new jobs," said Stabenow. "This will help grow the economy and make West Michigan an even better place to do business." "We have seen that the most effective strategies for creating jobs bring together public and private groups in this common goal," said Levin. "This funding will provide the Kalamazoo area with support to develop an economic roadmap to create jobs in West Michigan." With this EDA investment, the South Central Michigan Planning Council will create and implement a comprehensive economic development strategy. The council will unite public and private entities to develop the job creation plan. The total cost of the project is approximately $42,000.
