The grant, made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Development Economic Impact Initiative, will be used to purchase a new police vehicle to help the City serve and protect local residents. "We depend on our men and women in uniform to be there in times of crisis, and they depend on us for the support they need to do their jobs," said Stabenow. "This funding will help the City of Manistique perform their duties and protect the public." The City of Manistique will receive $20,000 to help replace its current vehicle, which is nearing the end of its useful lifespan.
