Res. 91, the Honoring the Families of Fallen Soldiers Act, to continue providing survivor benefits and funeral and other expenses for fallen soldiers and their families during the partial government shutdown. The House also passed H.J. Res. 90, the Flight Safety Act, to maintain necessary funding for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). These are the latest bipartisan bills passed through the House to provide funding and reopen the government. “The House acted in a bipartisan fashion through regular order to continue funding to critical functions of our government,” said Hultgren. “We cannot abandon our military men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this country, and I’m pleased we passed this bipartisan bill to ensure their families and funeral arrangements are provided for. “We need to work together to find a quick and reasonable solution to this impasse. As the situation in Washington unfolds, it’s clear that passing a budget and raising the debt limit will require serious efforts from all sides. Our debt is out of control. It can’t be ignored.” In the last week, the House has also passed the following bills with bipartisan support that would fund vital functions of the government.
