The Grants Workshop will offer small business owners and non-profit organizations the opportunity to learn about funding opportunities, the grant application process, and capacity-building methods once grant funds are received. The workshop will also include representatives from federal, state, and private agencies, panel discussions, and how-to exercises. Some of the organizations that will be represented are The Conservation Fund, the N. C. Department of Agriculture, the N.C. Department of Homeland Security, the N. C. Department of Public Safety, The Duke Endowment, the Duke Energy Foundation, the Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust, the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Natural Resource Conservation Services, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation. Featured guest speakers include Daniel Mallison III, Vidant Health Capacity Building Program; W. S. Robinson, Certified Public Accountant; Angel Wright-Lanier, Assistant City Manager of Goldsboro, N.C.; and Evan Lewis, CEO, Martin Community Action.
