It offers a reasonable solution to protect those who put in a good faith effort to enroll in the marketplace by ensuring they have health coverage next year. I’ll keep fighting to do my part to make sure all Americans have access to the quality and affordable health care they deserve.” Bustos’ bill would provide retroactive insurance coverage to January 1st, 2014, for individuals who tried to enroll in an exchange health plan prior to December 23rd, 2013, and were not able to through no fault of their own despite a good faith effort, as long as they enroll and pay their premium by January 31st, 2014. The bill would also ensure that people who enrolled correctly, but do not yet have their insurance card, are not discriminated against when they seek health care. It would also protect those who were incorrectly determined to be eligible for Medicaid and prevented from enrolling though the marketplace. Bustos is a strong supporter of making sure all Americans have access to quality and affordable health care and has fought for common sense adjustments to the health care law such as allowing all Americans who like their insurance to have the option of keeping it. | 1 | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z | 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z |
