For over a decade, the Buick City complex has sat idle, serving as a daily reminder of the past and what was. Now, with this new manufacturing plant, we look toward the future. This new long-term investment will create permanent, new jobs and invest millions of dollars in our community. It is also my hope that today’s announcement will create a ripple effect of additional investments around the Buick City site in the near future.” As country treasurer, Congressman Dan Kildee helped to develop state and federal brownfield development policies that helped to form the basis for these types of investments in Flint.
