Produced by the Republican Study Committee, the bill provides a free-market patient-centered alternative to the Affordable Care Act. “The President’s health care law has hurt more people than it has helped,” said Congressman Luke Messer. “Taxes are going up. Premiums are rising to unaffordable levels and workers’ hours are being cut. People are losing the plans they like. After more than $500 million spent, the website doesn’t even work. Americans needed genuine health care reform before President Obama signed his signature law—and we still do. That’s why I am proud to co-sponsor the American Health Care Reform Act.” H.R. 3121 fully repeals the President’s health care law. It spurs competition to lower health care costs by allowing Americans to purchase health insurance across state lines and allows small businesses to pool together to get the same buying power as large corporations. The American Health Care Reform Act also gives families the ability to deduct health care costs on their taxes and addresses the medical liability crisis which has played a significant role in escalating health care costs.
