The bill gives tens of thousands of Hoosiers the ability to keep their health care plans despite receiving cancellation letters due to the Affordable Care Act. “More than 108,000 Hoosiers are set to lose the health care plan they chose because of the President’s health care law mandates,” said Congressman Luke Messer. “While we work toward suspending the Affordable Care Act and finding a long term solution to our nation’s health care crisis, this bill will allow patients to remain in charge of their own health care.” H.R. 3350 allows plans available on the individual market today to be offered next year and provides millions of Americans the opportunity to keep their policies in 2014. The bill also ensures that Americans keeping their plans would not face a penalty under the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate.
