Baseless lawsuits are routinely filed because of the lack of mandatory sanctions – this bill restores mandatory sanctions, guarantying consequences for filing a baseless lawsuit. It is essential that we help protect Americans from the very-real consequences of frivolous lawsuits and advance the cause of justice in this country.”   Background: H.R. 2655, the “Lawsuit Abuse Reduction Act” was introduced  by Congressman Lamar Smith (TX-21) and cosponsored by Congressman Holding.
