"I strongly urge Sharon Helman to immediately step down from her position as director of the Phoenix Veterans' Affairs Health Care System," Congressman Steve Pearce said Saturday. "Ms. Helman, and other management officials at the facility, are accused of actions that were intolerable, and may have resulted in the deaths of several veterans who served our country with honor. Veterans have sought better service from the VA for many years, only to be ignored. Our veterans are now fighting against an administration that does not value America's men and women in uniform. Our veterans deserve better than this." Pearce supports a full investigation into the Phoenix VA Health Care System and recent allegations of delays in treatment, accusations of recent patient deaths due to long delays in service, and mismanagement of the facility.
