"The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) assures our men and women in uniform the ongoing support they need as they continue missions from bases in new Mexico to Afghanistan," said Congressman Steve Pearce. "At a time of extreme budget uncertainty and questions surrounding the funding and size of our military, it is critical for Congress and the American people to show strong support for those in uniform. The legislation passed today protects the important TRICARE promises made to our veterans and active duty troops. It includes critical funding for our national security labs to ensure they can continue their mission. This legislation includes a pay increase for those who sacrifice their own safety for ours. Most importantly, this bill increases defense spending, providing the support our armed forces need to combat terrorism and stand ready to defend freedom around the world." "Every year, I consider the NDAA one of the most important votes I take," Pearce continued. "My experience in the Vietnam War allowed me to see firsthand the harmful effects of Congress choking off military funding.
