The Bangor Fire Department will receive $498,532 to fill four firefighter positions, and Dover-Foxcroft Fire & Rescue will receive $63,431 for protective gear and an air refill station. "Our career and volunteer firefighters are among our bravest public servants. These grant programs are an extremely critical source of funds for our fire and rescue personnel," said Senator Collins. These funds are being distributed through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) and Assistance to Firefighter (AFG) grant programs, which Senator Collins has long championed.
