Mattis, USMC (Ret.), former commander of the U.S. Central Command, the Honorable Ryan Crocker, former Ambassador to Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Kuwait and Lebanon, and Dr. Dafna H. Rand from the Center for a New American Security to testify.   “The threats that ISIL pose to the stability of the Middle East and to our national security are incredibly serious,” stated Westmoreland. “I thank Chairman Rogers for calling this hearing so that we may receive an update on the situation unfolding and have the opportunity to ask questions. I am looking forward to hearing the testimony from these experts, and to consider their recommendations going forward.”   Congressman Westmoreland is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, where he serves as chairman of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
