Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) released the following statement after the House of Representatives voted on energy (H.R. 2) and jobs (H.R. 4) legislation: “House Republicans repackaged so-called energy and jobs legislation which includes misguided policies overturning the EPA rulemaking process to special interests and threatening public health and longstanding clean air and water protections.  While I’ve supported certain provisions of this package previously, including targeted tax relief to small businesses, I can't support legislation that hurts middle class families or endangers safe and responsible energy production in the U.S. Earlier this week, House Republicans defeated my amendment to H.R. 2 to reinstate the Wind Energy Production Tax Credit.  The Tax Credit unfortunately expired at the end of 2013 and would have helped to create more renewable energy-related jobs in Colorado.” ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
