Adam Kinzinger was one of two Congressman who met with Syrian rebel commanders, including members of both Muslim and Christian opposition groups, to fight against ISIS. In the end, more than 20 groups came to an agreement to fight against both ISIS and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces. Kinzinger was also adamant that a 'no-fly-zone' needs to be imposed over Syria to prevent Syrian President Bashir Al-Assed from bombing the rebels. Kinzinger called the weekend trip, which also involved meeting with Kurdish forces also fighting against ISIS, one of the most grueling he's every experienced. He talked with 'Eyewitness News' anchors Mimi Murphy and Nick Toma remotely from Washington D.C., who started off by asking him what he felt he accomplished. "I think it's important to bring awareness of what was going on in Syria," said Kinzinger, "but we were also able to negotiate an agreement between the Syrian Christians which is a Christian minority group and we were able to negotiate an alliance between them and the free Syrian Army. And this is the very beginning of what could be even bigger alliances and it is very obvious that the free Syrian Army is interested in protecting the rights of minorities which is important in that part of the country."
