Since taking office, we have worked to combat domestic violence and protect survivors and their families.   In January 2013, we led the fight to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and strengthen its protections for Arizona women. VAWA protects millions of women and their families from domestic and sexual violence.   In September, we cosponsored the Pet and Women Safety (PAWS) Act of 2014, bipartisan legislation that supports survivors of domestic violence by expanding protective orders to cover family pets. We also called on the nation’s major sports leagues to strengthen their policies on domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.   Click here to learn more.
