However, many of these failures happened prior to Ms. Pierson’s tenure as director. It’s clear that we need a thorough review of the agency to identify systemic problems and implement solutions to prevent such security lapses from happening again in the future. With that in mind, the House Judiciary Committee, which has primary jurisdiction over the numerous functions of the Secret Service, including the protection of the President, will hold both public and classified hearings on the agency in November.
