They’ve delayed this project for far too long already. If they want to help provide Americans with good, high-paying jobs they will join us in moving this legislation forward.” The bill is in response to the Administration’s failure to issue a final decision on the pipeline since the original application in September of 2008.  While environmental concerns had been expressed, the latest application contains a reroute of the pipeline to avoid any sensitive areas in Nebraska. Additionally, the Department of State issued earlier this year a Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement, stating the pipeline would have limited environmental effect.  The legislation deems this statement adequate to satisfy the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) and any other federal laws. H.R. 5682 passed the House by a vote of 252 to 161. It will now go to the Senate for approval. ### For information contact: Josh Miller | Communications Director, 202-225-2701, josh.miller@mail.house.gov Angie Gallant | District Press Secretary, 918-351-8700, angie.gallant@mail.house.gov 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
