Thompson (D-MS) announced the Second Congressional Districts Artistic Discovery Art Competition. The competition is open to high school students in the Second District. WHO: Congressman Bennie G. Thompson WHAT: Second Congressional Districts Artistic Discovery Art Competition WHEN: 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m., CST, Tuesday, April 9, 2015 WHERE: Greenville Weston High School, 419 Robertshaw St., Greenville, Mississippi Congressman Thompson will be on hand to present awards to the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners along with honorable mentions. The 1st place winner along with one other person will receive round trip accommodations to Washington, D.C. to the National Awards Ceremony. The winning entry will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel for a period of one year. Again this year, the Savannah College of Art and Design will award the Artistic Merit Scholarship, in the amount of $3,000 to the 1st Place winner in the 2015 Congressional District Art Competition, if they meet the requirements. The artistic merit scholarship is renewable and is applicable at the college. The public is invited to attend.
