Founded in 1994 by former aviation cadet and Air Force First Lieutenant Errol Severe, and his wife, Beth, the museum honors aviators from the 20th century. After the resolution was introduced, the Arkansas House Delegation released the following statement: “The Aviation Cadet Museum in Eureka Springs honors America’s aviators who bravely fought for our nation during World War I and World War II. By recognizing the museum as the National Aviation Cadet Museum of the United States, we are paying tribute to these individuals and preserving their commitment to our country.” For almost fifty years, the flying cadet and succeeding aviation cadet programs provided pilots, navigators, and bombardiers for our nation’s military. The service and dedication of these aviators helped the United States defeat the enemies of freedom in both World Wars.
