I have often noted that I don’t like this kind of legislating, and I am disappointed that we have come to this point as a Congress. I prefer we handle funding the government separate from other contentious issues, as originally intended, but the short-term CR is necessary for the House to reach an all-important deal on spending levels, particularly for our nation’s defense.
