The legislation reforms current law to allow the Marshallese and other citizens of Freely Associated States to obtain a permanent driver's license or personal identification card. The bill will now head to President's desk for final signature. More information about the bill can be found here. I am thrilled to see the Senate take action to support the Marshallese community in Springdale and across the U.S. Today's passage means that Marshallese residents of Arkansas's Third Congressional District are one step closer to having the tools needed to further empower themselves and pursue opportunity in our region. The Marshallese people are part of the fabric of our state, and this common sense solution will support the great relationship we have built as a community.
