U.S. Representative Rob Woodall voted in favor of the measure. The Senate has been unsuccessful in passing the measure, resulting in a partial federal government shutdown as of December 22. This year, Congress along with President Trump's Administration made great strides in completing the appropriations process in a timely manner, and as a result, approximately 75% of funding has already been granted, but there is more work to do, said Woodall. The measure approved by the House addresses those shortfalls as well as provides the crucial resources requested by the White House to secure our southern border. The safety and security of the American people isn't a partisan issue, and it shouldn't be handled as such. I regret the decision of Senate Democrats, but am committed to finding a solution that maintains government operation while also investing the necessary resources in our southern border enhancements.
