That has never happened before in American history… finally, we have a bill in front of us that doesn’t just cut taxes for the biggest corporations and the wealthiest people in the country, but actually cuts taxes for working people,” said Bennet. The Wyden-Smith Tax Relief for American Workers and Families Act would raise the cap on the child tax credit for low-income families and make them eligible for a full $2,000 credit, help reduce housing costs by increasing the supply of affordable housing, and raise the tax deduction small businesses can take on research and development. The House passed the bill on a bipartisan basis on January 31st with 357 votes in favor, 70 votes opposed.
