Yesterday, Senators Blackburn and Blumenthal joined a rally at the U.S. Capitol with parents who are urging Congress to pass KOSA. During the rally, Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz (R-Texas) promised he would advance the legislation out of committee and help get it signed into law by the end of the year. 86% of Americans want Big Tech companies to be held accountable for their role in the social media addiction crisis. “Every Big Tech company should be willing to work with Congress to ensure America’s children are safe on its platforms, and we welcome OpenAI’s support for the Kids Online Safety Act,” said Senator Blackburn. “Lip service won’t save lives – Congress must take action to establish guardrails in the virtual space.
