However, due to growing health and safety concerns relative to the evolving COVID-19 coronavirus, it is important to note thatpublic visits and tours of many of the popular sites in Washington have been suspended.Please consult the list below for the current visitation status of sites. U.S. Capitol BuildingStatus:Closed to the public until further notice. Check for updates:https://www.visitthecapitol.gov/plan-visit/book-tour-capitol White House Status: The White House has resumed public tours, on an extremely limited basis, at a dramatically scaled down level. Tours will be hosted two days a week instead of five, only on Friday and Saturday, from 8:00AM to 11:00AM. The number of individuals allowed in for tours will be held at under twenty percent of normal tour capacity. Requests must be submitted at least one month in advance. Please note that our office can only submit a request to the White House for your tour. All decisions about tour dates and times are made by the White House and subject to last minute rescheduling or cancellation. Confirmed tour guests will be notified by White House email approximately two weeks in advance and will receive detailed information on additional health and safety precautions in place at that time. All guests (ages 2 years and over) are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing during their visit to the White House complex.
