Kees, who was recommended by Boozman and Cotton, was confirmed by unanimous consent. President Trump nominated Kees in September. The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the nomination last week. Dak Kees has led a distinguished career in service to our country. He is well prepared for this new role to enforce and uphold our nations laws. I look forward to working with him to combat crime and make our communities safer, Boozman said. I congratulate Dak Kees on his confirmation as U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas. Dak brings extensive experience as a public servant anda deeply held belief inthe rule of law. He will be an effectivelaw-enforcementofficerfor the people ofArkansas, Cotton said. Kees is currently employed as the Director of Global Ethics and Compliance at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc in Bentonville. Kees is a decorated Army veteran who rose to the rank of Captain. He was deployed to Afghanistan for one year and served a 15-month rotation in Iraq. During his military career, Kees served as a Legal Assistance Attorney, Trial Counsel, Brigade Judge Advocate and Senior Defense Attorney. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas School of Law. The U.S. Attorney's Office (USAO) Western District of Arkansas includes 34 counties stretching from Texarkana and El Dorado to Fayetteville and Fort Smith. It is responsible for representing the federal government in virtually all litigation for this district.
