Many duck hunters support the adjustment, as 98 cents out of every dollar generated by the sale of duck stamps goes directly to the voluntary purchase or lease of wetland habitat. “This is good news for conservationists, hunters, and most importantly, Arkansas,” Boozman said. “Arkansas is a destination for duck hunters from around the world. The additional resources generated from this program will go a long way toward preserving the habitat so future generations can participate in this exciting activity.” The legislation also requires any additional revenue to be used for voluntary conservation easements, which protect duck habitat without increasing federal land ownership. H.R. 5069 was previously approved by the House of Representatives and will now go to the White House for the President to sign into law.
