Sherrod Brown (D-OH) pushed for an amendment to the Senate tax bill to reward employers who keep jobs in the United States and pay workers well – encouraging them to create even more good-paying jobs in the U.S. During a hearing of the Senate Finance Committee earlier this month, a tax expert confirmed to Brown that the current Senate Republican tax plan would encourage corporations to outsource jobs and incentivize companies to keep their profits overseas. Brown’s amendment, the Patriot Employers Tax Credit, would give tax cuts only to those corporations that keep good-paying jobs here in the U.S., instead of those that ship jobs overseas. “If we are going to give tax cuts to corporations, let’s focus those tax cuts on employers that keep jobs in the U.S. and invest in American workers with the Patriot Corporation Act,” said Brown. “This is something we should all come together to support: tax cuts for businesses that create and support good-paying American jobs.”  Senate Republicans voted down Brown’s amendment. ### 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
