Unfortunately, not enough Senators supported stripping them out. “While my concerns about these earmarks remain, I agree with President Trump that Congress must avert a government shutdown, and I voted to advance this bipartisan package that will benefit North Carolina’s military families, infrastructure, and disaster recovery. “Because our state is still recovering from Hurricane Helene and faces an onslaught of severe winter weather, I would have preferred the pre-negotiated full-year appropriations for DHS stay in this package.
