U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today announced loans and grants for two projects in West Virginia to develop water and wastewater infrastructure. The funds have been awarded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and will provide rural communities with resources to improve or repair their water and wastewater systems. Infrastructure development is key to economic growth in West Virginias rural communities. It is also essential to the health and well-being of our people, which is why this USDA program was one of my priorities during the appropriations process. I am glad this funding is heading to the Mountain State where it will be put to good use, said Senator Capito, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Im pleased to see this funding awarded to the Jefferson County Public Service District and Malden Public Service District for investments in their water infrastructure facilities. Water infrastructure investments preserve quality jobs and boost economic development to improve the overall quality of life in our communities, Senator Manchin said.
