U.S. Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), members of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced $11,325,000 for West Virginia through the U.S. Department of Agricultures (USDA) Office of Rural Development. Funding comes through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant Program and will go toward improving water and wastewater service across West Virginia. The quality of basic services like clean drinking water often relies on investments in infrastructure like this from USDA, Senator Capito said. By improving these services for West Virginians, we can improve health and economic opportunity across our state, particularly in our rural communities. I appreciate the hard work of local leaders in helping to bring this funding to their communities, and I will continue to work with them to advance infrastructure projects across West Virginia. Clean water is crucial to our overall health and the success of our small businesses. And every citizen of the Mountain State deserves access to clean, safe water. These investments are great news for Mannington, Durbin, Pax, Kimberly and Grantsville. As a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee I will continue advocating for these resources for West Virginia communities, Senator Manchin said.Individual awards listed below: Town of Grantsville - $2,400,000 (grant); $1,768,000 (loan) Mannington PSD - $1,083,000 (grant); $1,850,000 (loan) Town of Durbin - $2,083,000 (grant); $277,000 (loan) Armstrong PSD - $618,000 (grant); $385,000 (loan) Town of Pax - $631,000 (grant); $230,000 (loan) # # # 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
