U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) today voted in support of the comprehensive pro-growth tax reform legislation. Senator Capito issued the following statement after the Senate passed the bill 51-48: Today, we secured a historic and substantial victory for West Virginians and for Americans across the country. Make no mistake: This is an important moment for our nation. Throughout this process, I promised to do whats best for West Virginia families, workers and small businesses; and I believe that this legislation is absolutely whats best for our state. These reforms will cut taxes and allow middle-income families to keep more of their hard-earned money. They will help small businesses grow and succeed and make sure American companies remain competitive globally. They will lead to higher wages, more jobs and new opportunities to get ahead. As with any major legislative push, there has been a lot of misleading rhetoric from critics and political theatrics from naysayers who never really planned to support this effort.
