Later in the day, the Senate voted 51-47 to go to conference with the U.S. House of Representatives on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.On CHIP, Senator Capito said: CHIP was one of the first programs that I became a strong champion for. Thats because I understand how critical it was then for families in West Virginia and what it is now Thousands of West Virginia families and children who rely on this program need to know that its going to be there. On tax reform, she continued: Im not OK with standing still because if youre standing still, youre losing. We need to move this economy forward. We need to make it work for everybody.
