The roundtable discussion featured presentations on how business leaders and government can work together to bring added mass transit options to local communities and commuters. Senator Ben Cardin meets with Darrell Brown, Director of the Charles County Department of Economic Development; Marcia Keeth, Deputy Director of the Charles County Department of Economic Development; Peter Murphy, President of the Charles County Board of Commissioners; and small business leaders from across Southern Maryland. “Southern Maryland has become one of the fastest-growing economic engines in the state,” said Senator Cardin. “I’m going to continue working hard to make sure the region has every resource to keep expanding and fostering the growth of Southern Maryland’s vibrant small business community. Rapid transit, infrastructure expansion, regulation reform – these are all critical elements to modernizing Southern Maryland and helping its businesses stay competitive.
