U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.), Chesapeake Charities and the Maryland Governor's Grants Office today co-hosted a workshop at Chesapeake College that brought together a wide array of federal and state agencies with non-profit organizations to exchange ideas on crafting successful grant applications. Now more than ever, our state and nation rely on the good work and generosity of our non-profit organizations. Our workshop gave mission-driven organizations the chance to hear directly from grantmakers about what sets apart winning proposals, said Senator Cardin. We hope to help ensure the prosperity of these worthy organizations, and to help position them to continue playing critical roles in the Maryland communities they serve. This was a rare opportunity for Chesapeake Bay area nonprofits to learn directly from government agencies what grants are out there and the best ways to apply for them, said Linda Kohler, Executive Director of Chesapeake Charities.
