But it also is the day that launched America into World War II and solidified our collective resolve to turn anger into action and revenge into redemption. On this 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack, we celebrate the honor and bravery of America’s ‘Greatest Generation’ that was borne from the sacrifices of war and imprinted on every family that sent their sons and fathers to fight on a distant shore or stood watch on the home front. On this day, we remind ourselves and the world that ‘American values’ still stands for freedom and a determination to use our unmatched strength to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. We also take time to honor the brave men and women who currently serve in our military, and their families.
