The Marine Corps is the first military service to successfully complete this type of audit. “I would like to give a loud ‘Bravo Zulu’ to the Marine Corps for this important achievement in safeguarding taxpayer funds. For many of us who served in the military, we know the Marines are often the first ones on the beach, so it is fitting that the Marine Corps is leading the way in this significant financial quest for the Department of Defense, the last federal agency yet to receive a clean financial audit. I will continue to work with Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, Acting Deputy Secretary Christine Fox and the rest of the administration on getting across this financial finish line.
