Last week, Dr. Cassidy and Gov. Edwards met with Senators Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) and Thad Cochran (R-MS), who chair the Senate Committee on Appropriations, and advocated for $2 billion in Disaster Recovery Community Development Block Grant (CDBG-DR) funds and an allocation to the Army Corps of Engineers for the Comite River Diversion project.   On Monday, Dr. Cassidy led the delegation in sending a letter to the president urging him to submit a supplemental appropriations request to Congress for flood recovery aid.
