The proposed amendment reads: The Supreme Court of the United States shall be composed of nine justices. Nine justices are a balanced amount for the Supreme Court. Efforts to pack the court are nakedly political in nature and serve only to secure a permanent liberal majority. A constitutional amendment makes it clear that the court remains as it is,said Dr. Cassidy. Democrats, spurred by their left-wing base, have either embraced court packing or refused to state a position. The idea has gained more traction among left-leaning voters who want to negate the seats filled by President Trump, who has appointed three justices to the court. Cassidy supported the confirmations of Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavannah.
