Cassidy joined U.S. Senators Joni Ernst (R-IA), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Mitt Romney (R-UT) and Martha McSally (R-AZ) in a panel discussion on the path forward for passing paid leave legislation. If we successfully implement these policies, there is some family that because of this policy their lives will be tangibly better. Not only will their lives be better, but their child's life will be better, said Dr. Cassidy. This is a wonderful thing that will pay off upwards from generation to generation. I'm not sure there are that many public policies we have that we can confidently say that of, but this is one of them. Cassidy is the chairman of Senate Paid Family Leave Working Group and a leader on the issue in Congress. Earlier this month, Cassidy was joined by U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) and U.S. Reps. Colin Allred (D-TX) and Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in introducing the only bipartisan, bicameral paid leave legislation currently before Congress.
