U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Housing Appropriations Subcommittee, announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded a total of $2,228,481 to public housing agencies across the state to support affordable housing and bolster COVID-19 prevention and response efforts throughout the State of Maine. This second installment of supplemental funding was awarded througha provision of the CARES Act that Senator Collins authoredthat directed $48.5 billion to support transportation and housing programs throughout the country. To fight the COVID-19 pandemic, additional resources are vital to help bolster Maine's housing programs that serve the most vulnerable members of our society,said Senator Collins. This important funding will support affordable housing and bolster COVID-19 prevention and response efforts throughout Maine.
