In addition to honoring the members of our armed forces who gave their lives in service to our country, this year’s parade also honored the victims of the recent fire at Robbins Lumber, including local volunteer firefighter Andrew Cross of Morrill. “Freedom is precious, and it comes at a tremendous price. On Memorial Day, and every day, we honor the brave men and women in uniform, as well as their families, who have made the ultimate sacrifice. I was honored to join the people of Searsmont this morning for their Memorial Day parade,” said Senator Collins. “It was incredible to see so many local families and first responders turn out in the pouring rain. In the face of tragedy, Searsmont has been a powerful reminder of the resilience of Maine communities and the kindness of our neighbors.
