I love seeing how things are made. The dedicated men and women at Columbia Forest Products in Presque Isle make the beautiful hardwood plywood and veneer that's used in products like cabinetry and furniture, said Senator Collins. The forest products industry is vital to our state, and I will continue to work hard every day to support this important industry and its highly-skilled workforce. Last month, Senator Collins joined a bipartisan group of Senators in sending a letter to the U.S. Department of Commerce expressing strong support for the American hardwood plywood industry. In the letter, the Senators encouraged the Department of Commerce's continued attention to recent actions by China to upset the level playing field for domestic producers like CFP. Founded in 1957, CFP is the largest manufacturer of hardwood veneer and hardwood plywood in North America with 12 total facilities. Their products are used to create high-quality cabinetry, fine furniture, architectural millwork, and commercial fixtures.
