U.S. Senators Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development Appropriations Subcommittee,and Angus King announced today that nine housing programs across the State of Maine have been awarded a total of $449,554 through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developments Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. Maines housing authorities provide a vital service to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families, said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. By supporting public housing agencies, these grants will help connect Mainers with the resources they need to achieve economic independence.
