On Repealing of Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) Regulations: This omnibus legislation alsoincludes a provision to fullyrepeal the Country of Originlabeling regulations, known asCOOL.This has been a real problem forour livestock producers in Texasand in the United States.By repealing these costly foodlabeling mandates, the U.S. willavoid a trade war with Canadaand Mexico, two of our largestexport and trading partners, andit will help Texas farmers andranchers and manufacturers. On Making State and Local Sales Tax Deduction Permanent: This legislation also includes apermanent extension of state andlocal sales tax deduction,something that amounts to morethan $1 billion in annual taxrelief for Texans.This will ensure that Texans areon a level playing field withthose who deduct their stateincome tax because we don't havean income tax and never will. 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
