The funding includes $1,984,518 to Minnkota Power Cooperative for repairs related to severe storms, tornadoes, and straight-line winds that struck North Dakota on June 20-21 and Aug. 7-8, 2025. This funding provides $1,854,703 for permanent repairs to the electrical grid in Morton County and $129,815 for the repair or replacement of utility poles and related components. FEMA’s grants follow requests in July and September 2025 from U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer (R-ND) and members of North Dakota's congressional delegation asking President Donald Trump to approve major disaster declarations submitted by Governor Kelly Armstrong.
