Senator Crapo is a co-sponsor of the legislation, which was led by Committee Chairman Tim Scott (R-South Carolina) and Ranking Member Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts). “Homes are the foundation for economic success, family stability and community cohesiveness,” said Crapo. “Unfortunately, lack of affordable housing is routinely the number one concern I hear from Idahoans. We must reform inefficient segments of U.S. housing across all markets to make the American dream of homeownership more attainable.” The comprehensive housing package would take various steps to increase access to affordable housing for Americans across the country by expanding and preserving the housing supply, improving housing affordability, and increasing oversight and efficiency of federal regulators and housing programs. The measure contains several provisions Senator Crapo co-sponsored as standalone bills, including: The Housing Supply Frameworks Act; The Rural Housing Service Reform Act; The Reducing Homelessness Through Program Reform Act; The Housing Unhoused Disabled Veterans Act; The Housing Supply Expansion Act; and The Helping More Families Save Act. Text of the bill is available here, and a section-by-section summary is available here. ### 1 2026-03-30T01:40:41Z 2026-04-07T14:40:33Z
