A letter released Monday carries the signatures of both Texas U.S. Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, as well as those of all current Texas Republicans in the House save Mac Thornberry (no word back yet from his office on that). The letter, like the lawsuit filed the the Texas governor-elect, alleges that Obama's unilateral decision "has created an undue burden on the people of the state of Texas." Abbott, who attended a governors' meeting with Obama at the White House on Friday, has tallied the costs at about $100 million. The White House maintains that the people being protected from immediate deportation and allowed to work would be in the country anyways, given the impossibility of deporting all of the estimated 11 million people living in the U.S. illegally.
