The vote was 97-1. It has been 15 years since the horrific terror attack of Sept. 11, 2001, that rocked our nation and forever changed our world that is 15 years too long for justice for these victims,Daines stated. These families deserve long-overdue closure and to seek justice against countries that aided the terrorists responsible for this atrocity. The U.S. Senate today voted to override President Obama's veto of theJustice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA)that would give victims of terrorist attacks on U.S. soil tools to hold those who sponsor terrorism accountable and, in particular, permit families of the September 11, 2001 victims to seek financial compensation against foreign state sponsors of terror. JASTA receivedunanimous supportin both the Senate and the House of Representatives earlier this year. ### Print Email Tweet Previous Article Next Article 1 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z 2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
